We have developed a custom Fiori app for the invoice approval process (OpenText Vendor Invoice Management). We have built a custom OData service to fetch the invoice work items and display in the front end app and are able to do this successfully.
We have added footer buttons for Approve and Reject actions. On click of any of these buttons we send the details like the work item ID, invoice number, approve/reject decision and entered comments to the OData service, which in turn calls a custom RFC in the backend system to update the details for the particular work item using BDC screens. When we execute this RFC stand alone directly from backend system it runs fine, the BDC screens are called and the work item gets processed successfully. But when we try to do this from the custom Fiori app via the OData service, the RFC gets triggered successfully and executes the code but doesn't shows BDC screens and doesn't update Approve/Reject action.
The question that we are facing is this - is there some specific restriction on calling BDC screen in a function module via an OData service?
Can anyone let us know about this please?
